As has been our custom for a while now, we start the new year by contemplating the year we just wrapped up. What do we have to say? Can we still contribute to the cultural conversation about faith in a meaningful way?

Beyond the Noise

This episode almost didn't make it. Why? Well, sometimes things don't quite happen like you hope they will. This episode was recorded and edited in October and then somehow wiped from existence(that may or may not be my fault-Ryan). But... we thankfully record back up audio.

Do I Have To Like Church To Love Jesus?

You've probably heard this verse quoted - "Do not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing." And if you've been a Christian for any amount of time, you've probably encountered something about church that you didn't like, or even deeply hurt or grieved you.
We're commanded to continue to participate in church, but how do we navigate the all too often messy and difficult people that are a part of it? And for that matter, what does "church" even mean?
In this episode, we try to get to clarity on what it means for the body of Christ to gather, and what God was really wanting the church to be to begin with.

If you've been A Christian - or at least a church-goer - for any amount of time, you've likely heard some variation of the phrase "As long as we agree on the essentials..." But what happens when we can't agree on what the essentials are?

We live in a crazy world. Everyday demands and the "daily grind" can feel like a lot sometimes. Often we may steal a few moments to "zone out" and resort to mindless scrolling or doing nothing at all to get that well deserved rest... BUT, what if that really isn't rest at all?
 
On this episode we discuss the idea that while zoning out might offer temporary escape, it doesn't offer true rest or renewal. True rest - deep, soul-level restoration -  comes from God alone and often looks more active and intentional that we might expect.
